Study of Race and Law
This class focused on the history of the United States beginning with the Declaration of Independence and concluding around the Civil Rights Movement, specifically through the lens of legalities. It was a very interesting class that required lots of reading of case documents and articles written hundreds of years ago by very famous people, which was a challenge because I struggle to read historical literature so throughout the course of the class I got a lot better at reading and understanding the material. The class was also very discussion based so I was able to have my questions answered by both the professors and my fellow students. I learned a lot about the legal system in America, both the current one and how it used to work, and how it probably does not represent out diversity in populations adequately. This class was super daunting at first because it is no where near my area of expertise as a biology and science person but I am so glad I took it because I met so many cool people, I learned so much, and I learned that I never want to go into law.

The final paper that I wrote for this class took a lot of my mental energy and I am very proud of it. So bellow I have linked my final paper; it speaks on Ida B Wells and how she defended herself in court.
