Mountainous cliff climbing

I spent a week in the mountains of Bulgaria over the summer with a summer camp. We spent the week learning about the mountain range that we were climbing, about the dangers of the mountain itself. We also learned how to pack our backpacks efficiently as we climbed the highest peak in Bulgaria in 5 days, up and back down again. We also learned rock climbing safety and knots as we spent 2 afternoons rock climbing on cliff-faces, while we were climbing on the cliff-faces I climbed one of the hardest routes I have ever attempted and I am super proud of myself for that. To get to the peak we took a difficult route that required we be strapped in harnesses and tied to a line together for our own safety, so we needed the experience in climbing and some basic safety. Throughout the camp we did exercises to teach us trust in ourselves and in each other so that we would all feel safe when we did the final trek to the highest peak, which was to be the highlight of the trip. I learned a lot about my physical limits on this trip, and how much I can push those limits, and how fragile those limits can be if pushed too far. I also made some long lasting friendships with everyone that attended, both counselors and campers. This trip will always be looked upon fondly in my memories because of how much I learned and how much fun I had and how much I laughed.
