NIA STEFANOV PORTFOLIO
Honors Mentorship
In the fall of 2024, I played the role of mentor to a small group of honors students. My role was to ensure that they had a person to reach out to at all times if they needed help in any sphere of life. I used mainly emails to communicate with them, and although I rarely got responses it was fulfilling to know that I was providing a space for them if they needed it. I was able to carve out a good relationship with one of my students over the course of the semester as he attended the Climbing Wall, where I spend a good portion of my time outside of my studies and other duties. Over the course I was able to help him with a myriad of problems, and our friendship has shown me the value of positions such as these. Although it can be disappointing when people do not reach out, even for simple questions, knowing that I impacted one person positively is fullfilling enough for me.
Above are some of the email communications I have sent my mentees.
